Life in Stillness
Contemplating that I'm a contemplative girl. Journaling, Jesus music soft and deep, opaque nail polish, chandelier earrings, candles, dogs and blogs.
But in all the meditation, I realize there's a numbness that needs to be broken through. As contemplatives, God didn't make us to be "less than alive," but to be fully alive in our stillness. The practice of prying open the heart, with self and with God, and eventually, with others. Perhaps as contemplatives, our silent activity is the key to life. Being real, really real, in writing, pouring out in worshiping, pursuing beauty outwardly and inwardly--the particular kind we were uniquely made for, relishing and embracing the quiet moments that flourish our persona. Enjoying life.
"I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)." -John 10:10b
