"How to Have the Perfect Birthday"

Look at this little guy. Birthdays make me miss childhood, when simple things made us happy!

I had the roughest bday in a long time. Makes me wonder how Jesus would spend His birthdays (or whether they even celebrated birthdays back then haha). He probably knew how to spend the perfect bday. Maybe He'd turn some water into wine and kick it with His disciples, haha (if so I'd emulate Him!). Or maybe He wouldn't tell anyone it was His birthday and would retreat to spend time with God for a day (did that last year..it was definitely a deny-yourself Jesus experience). The latter sounds more characteristic of Him;). Cause what I've learned is that when you make your bday a day to connect with and delight in God and to thank Him for life, that's what can make your day perfect. Just wish I had some more time to sit and dwell with Him today. But it's okay..I'll have plenty as a 22-year-old with my plane having nowhere to land~

Coming from an unsaved home, the messages I first received from Christianity were that there was a Person who loved me. I was mind-blown that there was a Creator who knew and loved me extravagantly. I didn’t understand the religiosity of things or even how people could be sick of church. The Worth of Hiddenness

For much of my 20’s, I aspired to a certain idea and vision of greatness. I received prophecies about my greatness and how the Lord wanted to use me to “impact nations.” I heard these kinds of words over and over, and these words were great to hear – but naturally, after many years of not making much impact, I felt like I had failed God to some measure (I believe my experience is not uncommon). I felt I needed to figure out how to achieve “big impact” in order to truly fulfill my calling and destiny in life.   The Great Commission says in Matthew 28:19-20:  "Go therefore and  make disciples of all the nations , baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...”  When read plainly, the Great Commission does put forth this command of impacting nations.
