A New Dawn
Mmm..Finals are over and the living is easy. :)
I've been feeling God bringing me out more into the open with people..I'm usually closed off and pretty secretive about what goes on in my life, not really sure why haha. But lately I've been telling people things and then thinking to myself, 'Did I really just say that?' But..I think it's good. At least for myself. Maybe for others too. So..I guess I'm feeling a push toward sharing more about my life (hence the Twitter), cause God works in the daily, and in the details.
One highlight of late is that I got to share the gospel with one of my best friends. I'm so grateful and so humbled that He gave me this precious friendship, that I could share something so dear to my heart with her, and why He's so dear to my heart. And it was totally not weird, it was like me explaining to her just another Biology concept like always. Both topics have God as their explanation.
It also opened my eyes to see that the dissonance I've always thought existed between believers and non-believers isn't as tangible as it is just a matter of networking..A simple question: "have you met my best friend yet?" Those who don't know Jesus simply haven't met Him. They haven't had someone introduce them to Him, and thus haven't yet been able to form a relationship with Him. A lot of times we, or I, automatically assume that an unbeliever has already heard of the Christian faith and rejected it, and that's why they're not following Christ. So many of us believers try to get people to church but don't explain to them why..people deserve an explanation.
There's nothing that we Christians have done to be able to meet Jesus and allow Him to transform our lives. Some of us have just been lucky to have had people introduce us to Him in the first place. A lot of times, it just takes that first meeting..for an unrepentant sinner to become one of the devoted believers around us.
As Jaeson Ma says, church is when two people come together and talk about Jesus. We don't need to bring people to church, we need to bring church to the people. More than anything, I'm so thankful God can be a subject of discussion now between Valerie and me. One of the most beautiful things I hope to experience again is a friendship blossoming into a sisterhood..cause as I told Valerie, I care about her too much to not have told her about Jesus.
