James

I was pretty surprised the enemy didn’t try to prevent this road trip in any way, cause I knew, and as a girl prophesied, this trip was key in unlocking my destiny. Praise the Lord, He got me on all the right trains and buses on time (which I have not had a very good track record of in the past, heh 8), He provided a friend’s car (which awesomely got back hundreds of miles later without a scratch! though a little dirty:), He provided free housing with Bethel students, and all of the events of this weekend fell into place perfectly, one right after another with time to rest and converse. Truly, truly blessed; He is the Ultimate Provider. And I’m grateful for friends who pray :) You know who you are! :):)

The only thing the enemy tried, though, was to distract me during each service. Friday night I got a headache, Saturday a stomachache, and Sunday back pain, all just during the particular service. Go figure cause all the sermons really spoke to me, but I got the meat..the jokes and details were lost to distraction, but eh, what’s lost is lost. I wanted to share my notes from Friday night’s sermon, forgive me as they don’t read very fluidly (if anything, read #3 please!):

From James 1, four things we need:

1) Higher perspective: v.2. Many carry unneeded spirits of heaviness because they don’t learn to violently counteract lies. People who choose joy in difficult times know it’s a way to greater things in God. See it all [the struggles] in relation to your prophetic destiny—what you’re becoming. Your response to something is more important than the something. If I’m not joyful now, the chances of me becoming joyful when the “something” is over are slim. Joy is the fruit of a higher perspective. The more lies you’re believing, the less joy you’ll have.

2) Higher strategy: If you read a scripture and don’t get encouraged, you’re not interpreting it at a high enough level. On prayer: God told me, “How bout asking less and thanking more?” You’re creating a stronghold of faith when you thank Him for answering yesterday’s prayer.

A bad decision made in faith has a better chance of success than a good decision made in doubt. Why would God invest His resources and send His angels behind someone who will keep changing his mind? Double-mindedness is a big issue. When you doubt, you’re robbing yourself of the power behind the decision. We need the power of faith behind what we do. God doesn’t reward you for making the right decision, He does for doing things in faith.

3) Higher identity: Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation. We develop a prosperous soul in tribulation. One of the tickets out of a lowly place is a prosperous soul. Our response to what’s happening is more important than what’s happening. God’s always calling something what it is before it is. God’s a master at using people who other people don’t think should be used. We can’t come into agreement with past experiences of who we are. We don’t deny past experiences, but we don’t agree with them either. He calls us to also help others to a higher identity—through prophecy.

You don’t need a higher identity, you need a higher revelation of your identity.

4) I blame it on the headache..

Stray one-liner, haha: Our brain is a better student than a teacher; it should be receiving what our spirit already knows.
