Thoughts

I really want to be in China right now, where people's cares are actually legit.

I want to go back to school..so I can spend some alone time with God without suffocating in my car. And so I can walk around campus when the sun's setting.

God is the only one who deserves to be reckless in His love, dangit.

ok..i feel like being candid.
going through a season of darkness supposedly. been grieved a lot by all the fighting and criticizing that goes on in this house, about stupid stuff. struggling with taking up my cross, struggling with my thought life. a lot of attacks recently, physical and emotional.
but Jesus promises to be with us in 3 circumstances:
1) when 2 or 3 gather together in His name -matt 18:20
2) in the midst of praises -ps. 22:3
3) with those who are in trouble. -ps. 46:1. When I need Him most, He's closer than ever.

The path to maturity & glory is paved in pain.

If there's anything I've been learning in this spiritual valley, it's that I am a complete nothing without Christ. He is the originator of any good in me.
"In myself, I am nothing; in God, everything."

I was convicted recently to really start walking in the light. No deception, no pretending, no empty words, just being truthful in who I am and how I present myself to people. I think it's setting me free, just how Jesus promised.

"The truth shall set you free."

I leave with morsels of wisdom from The Final Quest =):
  • "The things that are done in an effort to make history will at best confine your accomplishments to history, and you will fail to impact eternity."
  • "The wise judge themselves lest they be judged. The even wiser ask for the judgments of the Lord, because they realize that they cannot even judge themselves well."
  • "The high calling is not out of reach for anyone that the Lord has called. I will tell you what will keep you on the path of life--love the Savior and seek His glory alone. Everything that you do to exalt yourself will one day bring you the most terrible humiliation."
  • "Pain is good; it shows you where there is a problem. Do not try to reduce the pain until you find the problem. God's truth often brings pain as it highlights a problem that we have, but His truth will always show us the way to freedom, too."
