I'm like a public restroom

I hung out with God a bit in the park today after my first ochem midterm (which went okay actually, thank the heavens!). And got some interesting revelations..

I think we're all a lot like public restrooms, haha. I was in one at CSUF, and it was truly grieving what kinds of things these girls wrote all over the stall. It was like a Post Secret kind of thing..but they were all kinds of sins, and I felt dirty just reading some of them, even just being in that public stall used by so many unrepented people. But I realized later..I am just like that public restroom stall with sins written and human waste littered all over it, and the way God feels whenever He searches my heart and looks upon all my sin and impurity, is just like what I felt today--totally repelled, grieved, and upset at my sinful, fallen state. But still, even more needy than we are to still go in and use the dirty restroom stalls (and we have toilet-seat covers and soap), He comes and actually lives in us. His love for us is even greater than our need to use the restroom, lol..Kind of a weird, unappetizing analogy. But reminds me of Job 25:5-6, "If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes, how much less man, who is but a maggot—a son of man, who is only a worm!" Our righteousness is like the dirtiness of worms to God.

So last week at church, Joy was asking why girls like to switch bags all the time, as she says, "they're just containers" lol. Was thinking of that today, and it might just go for people as well. We're just containers. Our bodies are just the containers for our spirit, soul, personality, everything that makes us, us. So often people go for the prettiest container, but don't even look inside to see if it's just junk. Kind of a useful analogy for spouse-picking haha..Which container has the pearl inside? :)

I'm chewing on the verse Col. 3:17.."Whatever you do..do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus"..or I interpreted it as 'do everything as if you were doing it in Jesus' name.' We only do certain things in Jesus' name, like praying or casting out illness and such. But what if we were to do everything in and for the name of Jesus, so that if someone were to follow us around all day, every action would be a witnessing act? It'd be a conscious effort, no doubt, but man, what a transformation of one's daily life it would entail. Suddenly I'd be eating healthier, studying happily, driving in full consciousness of the speed limit (haha), doing chores without being asked, honoring my parents in everything, etc. There's no obvious benefit to all this, of course, but I believe it's true that the most greatest evidence of Christ is Christians themselves.

So I've never really gone through the whole "my rent's due & bank account's empty" life experience, but I'm getting pretty darn close to it. A true test of faith it is, and quite humbling. But somehow, I think if I chose to empty my pockets into the hands of someone who needed it more--which probably represents 98% of the world :(--God would make it rain money on me haha. His kingdom just works like that. :)
Hmm..
